Visitin Topeka for the first time from VA! First, A for all the previous google reviews that steered us rookies in the right direction. Double Spanish Burger was delicious as it came but I think I’d like it even more with cheese, so if that’s your thing, don’t forget to order it with cheese. Onion rings Amen. Hallelujah. Give yourself a minute before diving in because they are FRESH (as was everything!!) or burn your mouth because they’re so good you can’t wait. Root beer. If root beer married cream soda...this is the offspring. If you aren’t washing all this down with one of these root beers...I won’t say what I want cause that would be rude. Service was FABULOUS. Food was out FAST. Great experience. Wish I lived closer.
Had a late night sports event that we drove from KC for. Showed up 10 minutes before close and the dude taking orders was super friendly. Food came out hot and fresh. Double cheese burger was top 3 I've had and on par with places like Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago. Root beer was also top tier. I would drive the hour and change from KC just to eat here again.
So happy I made the trip here! Service was outstanding. I had the steak burger and the pork tender(I know, I'm a fat ass!). Both were absolutely delicious. Wish I would have ordered everything on the menu. I will absolutely go back on my next trip through. Thank you Bobo's for a highlight on my cross country trek.
Was tipped about this place by friendly faces at the KS Dept. Of Insurance, and after eating here, I can see why. Great burger...beef is fresh and the buttered bun with the very freshly melted cheese made for a really rich, unique taste that was awesome. They make their own root beer and the float was really good. Server was celebrating her 18th birthday and couldn't have been nicer. Love finding places like this...hidden gems that only the locals know about. Will happily return to this fun little slice of nostalgia.
They've been in business forever, and they really haven't changed their menu. The cheeseburgers, onion rings, shake, and apple pie for dessert is the same as when I was a kid. It was also featured on "Drive-Ins, Diners, & Dives." You really need to experience this classic place!
Grabbed ours to go and had a picnic at the capitol! We did not go inside but from what I could see there’s limited seating space. We had a burger, hot dog, onion rings, fries and shake. It was all delicious, definitely a visit when in the city!
Everyone was so kind and helpful. We ate inside but you can do car hops also. The root beer was home aid and super good! We took our 3yo and 1 yo who also thought this place was super fun! It is small inside so if you have more than a family of four you will need to split between tables. Also, they didn’t have bathrooms so for a potty training family it meant we had to take our little man to the car potty.
I ordered the a double cheese burger at bacon no pickles add onion. The burger melted in my mouth it was so amazing. I also got onion rings witch are mad fresh daily best onion that have ever been put in my mouth. I also ordered the home made rootbeer. The drink was amazing the flavor profile was so good. The balance was there vanilla was not over powering at all. It has a wonderful healthy flavor. All the staff were supper polite. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxing
